Essential Mac Software

BBEdit – essential text editor

Sublime Text – another editor. Multi-platform, flexible, and just awesome.

Transmit – FTP software. I Recently updated to Transmit 4 and it is brilliant.

Cornerstone – A great Mac client app for Subversion.

Tower – Mac Git client. I haven’t personally used this.

Billings – invoicing and time tracking. They recently canned the basic app and you have to get the hosted or self-hosted Billings Pro.

Scrivener – good for larger writing projects.

iWork – Pages and Numbers. I use these every day.

Webmaster Tools

Google Content Removal Tool – I have had occasion to use this recently!

Web Hosting

MediaTemple – great hosting. I’d recommend the managed or developer dv products for anyone hosting more than a couple of web sites.

BlueHost – If you’re just getting started with Web Hosting or just hosting one or two sites, BlueHost are a good option.
